Business, for MC Saleem, was never simply a profession. A curiosity formed in school days became a commitment to understanding opportunity, making decisions, and building an enterprise of substance. In 1989, with his father’s support, a single electrical shop in Kozhikode began a 35-year passage into international business across India, China, Hong Kong, the UAE, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.
Each venture carried its own character. The discipline remained constant: understand the business deeply, build from the ground up, and execute with consistency. Defining chapters include the packaging supply developed for Malabar Gold & Diamonds, and the growth of CGS Dubai into a fresh food and commodity operation importing from 18 countries, exporting to six, and handling more than 1,000 containers a year.
Profit and loss are regarded with notable calm: outcomes of commerce, not measures of personal success or failure. A loss is studied. A profit is received without complacency. MC Saleem now chairs 16 companies, with more than 200 people and approximately AED 250 million in annual turnover. The strength of that organisation is held to rest in its people: trust, responsibility, capability, and teamwork.
The scale has changed. The fascination that began in school years has not.
